David Houbre was raised in Knoxville, attending Knoxville Catholic High School, where he met his high-school sweetheart. David went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Maryville College, where he also ran on the Cross Country team and played soccer. After getting married, he and his wife move to Memphis where he obtained his Juris Doctorate from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis in 2010.
Before joining Garza Law Firm, David started practicing in Knoxville after graduation and spent seven years practicing bankruptcy law, where he developed a strong understanding of financial hardship and its impact on individuals and families. He then served as in-house counsel for a large insurance carrier for over seven years, gaining valuable insight into insurance defense. This experience gives David a unique perspective on how insurance companies approach claims, allowing him to better anticipate their tactics and advocate more effectively on behalf of his clients with respect to personal injury matters. These combined experiences allow him to most effectively serve the needs of his Clients, both in their personal struggles but also an effective and hardworking advocate.
Outside of the office, David enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys. When he isn’t coaching his oldest son’s club soccer team, he can be found all around the southeast at dance competitions, watching his middle son play tennis, or cheering on his youngest son’s rock bands.
