Hallie Dyer grew up in middle Tennessee. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in studio art with a painting concentration, Ms. Dyer served as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in the West Indies, a secondary school instructor in Copán Ruinas, Honduras, and a paralegal in Nashville, Tennessee. She moved to Knoxville in 2015 to pursue her JD, which she received in 2018 from the University of Tennessee College of Law. While in law school, Ms. Dyer was inducted into the National Order of the Barristers, received CALI Excellence Awards in Legal Process and Domestic Violence Legal Clinic, and won multiple trial-practice competitions.
During her time in law school, Ms. Dyer had the privilege of clerking for both the Tennessee Court of Appeals under the Honorable John Westley McClarty and the Tennessee Supreme Court under Justice Sharon G. Lee. Her work in these courts provided meaningful exposure to complex legal issues, helping her develop the analytical and advocacy skills she now applies in criminal defense practice.
A member of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and the Knox County Bar Association, Ms. Dyer serves clients facing any and all types of criminal charges. Committed to providing informed and effective DUI defense, Ms. Dyer completed the NHTSA Standardized Field Sobriety Test Course and the Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement Course through Impaired Driving Specialists, LLC. This training gives her a detailed understanding of law enforcement techniques and allows her to identify weaknesses in DUI investigations. She also attended the National Criminal Defense College’s Deryl Dantzler Trial Practice Institute, a rigorous program dedicated to developing advanced trial advocacy skills for defense attorneys. Past and present clients consistently praise Ms. Dyer’s communication, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence.
In her spare time, Ms. Dyer enjoys traveling, playing music, and spending time with family and friends.
