Joe joined the Garza Law Firm in 2026 after working at the Knox County Public Defender’s Community Law Office for nearly six years. His primary focus is criminal defense, and he has extensive experience practicing in Tennessee courts. At the Community Law Office, Joe handled a felony caseload in the Knox County General Sessions and Criminal Courts. He found consistent success through hard-fought negotiations, motions practice, and trial advocacy.
Joe earned his law degree at Vanderbilt University Law School and his undergraduate degree at Syracuse University. While at Vanderbilt, Joe was the founding student director of the Woodbine Immigration Clinic, where law students met with members of the immigrant community to discuss their legal rights. He was also a student attorney with the Immigration Law Clinic, and he was recognized with a George Barrett Social Justice Summer Fellowship.
Outside of work, Joe is an assistant coach of the West High School lacrosse team.
