Can my DUI be expunged?

Can my DUI be expunged? How long a DUI remains on someone’s record is misunderstood. A DUI once on your record in the state of Tennessee will be on your record for the rest of your life. It is important to fight a DUI if you have the opportunity to rather than say, “I am going to plead guilty and they will drop off my record. Later, I will get it expunged.” None of those things actually apply.

You cannot expunge a DUI from your record. There are several other misdemeanor type charges. And sometimes, even some felony charges that after even a period of five years, you can do that. DUI is specifically accepted in a statute of intensity. So, you cannot expunge a DUI or it does not drop off your record forever. It is very important as soon as possible to come in and sit down with our team and try to plan how to defend your DUI successfully. This is because there are times when DUIs can be amended to other charges that can be expunged off your record ultimately at some point in the future.
