Changes to Social Security Disability Benefits in 2020
A new year brings new changes to social security disability benefits.
The Social Security Administration recently announced a 1.6% cost-of-living adjustment benefit increase for 2020. This means folks who draw Social Security Disability Insurance Benefits will see a 1.6% increase in their monthly benefit, and the federal monthly maximum for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients will increase from $771 per month to $783 per month.
Additionally, the amount of money a non-blind claimant can earn while pursuing disability benefits will increase from $1,220 gross per month in 2019, to $1,260 gross per month in 2020.
